culina OEX

Founded by Brad Lazarenko in 2004 the original Culina was located in the Mill Creek neighborhood. The original bistro was soon complemented with a wonderful and intimate wine bar, Bibo in the same building. Culina introduced Edmonton to Brad's philosophy of offering quality and affordable comfort food using products from local suppliers and producers. Since opening the first space Culina has expanded to include Culina Catering, Culina Cafe at the Muttart Conservatory and finally Culina to Go in the Oliver Exchange Building.

While discussing the initial design goals for the Culina to Go, we wanted to capture the amazing heritage that the building presented. We were able to incorporate elements such as re-purposing the original radiators from the building into the main service counter. Due to space limitations it was decided to utilize printed heavy canvas panels to provide separation between public and production space. This produced a unique alternative to traditional gypsum construction.

Stay tuned for several exciting new Culina projects underway now in the City.
